College Station is abuzz about Aggie football
Like so many others in Aggieland, my husband and I are excited about the start of Texas A&M football. As season ticket holders for 28 years, we’re prepared to be hot and to yell for our team.
It used to be that there were two seasons in Texas: football and everything else. Basketball is what happened between football and spring football. But that’s no longer the case for our Aggie basketball teams or for our other excellent team sports. Still, football is king, no matter if you wear maroon, burnt orange, red or another iconic color.
But you know what my favorite part of the Aggie football experience is? It’s the playing of the Aggie War Hymn because it feels like all of Kyle Field is moving together. Speaking of the Aggie War Hymn, I recently found out that a version of the song from 1941 is on our Project HOLD website. If you’ve never heard the song with a big-band flair and some lyrics that are a bit different from those sung today, give it a try.

Mayor Berry,
I am thrilled to have Project HOLD and the Fightin’ Texas Aggie War Hymn featured in your new blog! Have fun at the game, take lots of sunscreen, and WHOOP it up for my favorite team.
Gig ‘Em!
